In order to keep HFTS running “lean and mean” and use donor money effectively, we’re always looking for great people who want to contribute their time and talents. Here are some ways you can contribute:
SHARE YOUR COMMUNITY:
Share Hope for the Sold with others. Know someone who would be interested in learning more about human trafficking? Share a blog post, the resource section, or Hope University videos with them.
Make an introduction. Is there someone you think we should connect with? This could be someone working in the anti-trafficking field, a journalist or writer who covers social justice issues, an organization you’re involved with, a researcher, a politician or other leader who is interested or active in fighting human trafficking, a wealthy person who likes to give away money, a connection for a grant etc. We’d love to know about it!
Host a screening. Get a bunch of people together to watch Red Light Green Light or Over 18.
Run a fundraiser. The sky’s the limit, you can be as creative as you like on this one. Hope for the Sold is a registered charity under the umbrella of International Teams, both Canadian and American donations are eligible for tax receipts. Find out more.
Book a Speaker. Organize an event and invite Michelle Brock to speak on social justice, human trafficking, faith & justice, or related topics. Find out more by sending you query here.
VOLUNTEER YOUR SKILL:
Write an article. Have an original article you’d like to share on our blog? Contributor guidelines will be posted soon.
Edit footage. We’re constantly working on film projects and looking for people to volunteer their film editing skills.
Graphic design/infographics/photoshop/animation/web design. We’re suckers for pretty content (and think it can have a significant impact), so if you have skills in this department and could donate a few hours, we’d be super happy.
Photography & videography. Do you have a portfolio of photos or B-roll? Or the skills to go out and get some? We’re always looking for free photos to use for articles, and video to use as supplementary footage on our film projects.
PR/marketing/SEO/social media: Know how to do this stuff? Let us know!
Grant writing: If you have this magical superpower and are willing to donate some of your time, we’re game!
