I recently received a comment from a woman named Cathy on our blog, and she directed me to a great music video by 3 Minutes to Live that addresses sex trafficking. I thought I would post it up here for all of our readers to check out. Please be warned that some of the imagery is disturbing, as it depicts sexual violence. Sex trafficking is one of those things that is hard to raise awareness about because you can’t exactly show it. Thanks Cathy and 3MTL for being passionate about the plight of the women and girls who are suffering.
Terrific work! This is the type of information that should be shared around the web. Shame on the search engines for not positioning this post higher!
This was made for us by our friend Brian Terry of 3 Minutes to Live, and the actors are exclusively our volunteers.
What was really disturbing to me is that we spent two entire days in this apt. complex, with girls walking in and out in skimpy clothing with bruises, men walking in and out with beer cans (empty) and lots of screams and loud music coming from the apt. while we did the shoot– and I kept waiting for the police to show up– but they never did. No one reported seeing all the clear signs of trafficking….
That is the frustrating part isn’t it? So often the law works in our favour, but so often it ties our hands…it enrages me and saddens me that those kinds of apartments are often the norm. Thanks for sharing Derri, let’s take the steps we can to educate law enforcement so this becomes more of a priority.
